CH7 BANKRUPTCY

Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases move relatively quickly, and you may receive your discharge in just a few  months. A discharge will eliminate unsecured debts like credit card debt, medical bills, most personal loans, judgments resulting from car accidents, deficiencies on repossessed vehicles, some older tax debts,              payday loans, and garnishments. Certain debts are classified "non-dischargeable debts" and cannot be discharged, or can only be discharged under very specific circumstances. These include child support,    most student loans, and many tax debts.

Step 1

Do you qualify for a Ch 7 bankruptcy? Take the means test here: MEANSTEST

After completing the means test if you are still unsure as to whether you qualify bring your completed means test into our office and we can assist you.

 

Step 2

Make your appointment to receive the CH & bankruptcy workbook. A member of our staff will meet with you one on one to review the workbook. Once you have completed the workbook you will bring it back to one of our experienced staff members to begin preparing the documents needed for your bankruptcy.

Step 3

While we are preparing your documents you are required to take a

 Credit Counseling Class. Below is a link to view Credit Counseling Classes that have been approved.

Step 4

File your bankruptcy along with your credit counseling certificate. The new law requires YOU to personally file your bankruptcy. The filing fee is $299.00. If you need a deferral as you cannot afford the entire filing fee or would like to make payments you must fill out a deferral application: DEFERRAL APPLICATION . Step 5

 

Our firm will receive notice once you have filed. When we receive notice form the courts we will E-File your bankruptcy. after you file you will be required to take a Financial Management Class. You must complete this class as well.
